Participating in Viruskenner was about much more than winning an award. Throughout the project, the students learned how scientific research can be translated into clear and reliable information for the public. They discovered the importance of teamwork, critical thinking, and science communication, while gaining a deeper understanding of how public awareness can help prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
Viruskenner challenged us to think like researchers, communicate like educators, and work together as a team. It showed us that science is not only about discovering new knowledge, but also about making that knowledge accessible so it can benefit society.
