Belgian students from TSM in Mechelen and Vlot in Lokeren participated in the live kickoff event on January 6 organised in Mechelen. The coming weeks students are working on idea’s and solutions how to stop the spread of (emerging) viruses. ‘Knowledge as the antidote’ is the viruskenner slogan. What is the most innovative project, which project has the strongest message and which project has the highest societal impact. The winning teams will be selected by a jury in the national final event organised in Lokeren on March 14 after which the Belgian overall winner will be selected in the international final viruskenner event in Rotterdam on April 8. During the event in Rotterdam teams from Italy, Belgium, Surinam and the Netherlands will compete for the viuskenner 2025 award.
